I love that they’re a little bit crazy, and I love that they can be a little messy. I love that there are so many different personalities involved, and I love that each person has their own way of expressing themselves. I love how unique every family session is—and that there’s no way to predict what kind of session it will be before I start shooting.
I think the best part about family sessions is that they’re like this special glimpse into your life—a time capsule of your family at this particular moment in time. One day when you look back on these photos with your kids someday, you’ll remember what it felt like to be together as a family at this moment in history. You’ll remember all of the things you did together and all of the silly things your kids did (and maybe even some serious things!).
It’s so fun for me to get to witness this—it’s as if I get an invitation into someone else’s life for just a few hours, and then watch them go back to being themselves again.
It’s so important for families to make time for each other and create memories together— especially when there’s a new baby in the house or you want to celebrate the happiest moments and preserve them forever!
My goal is to capture the love that is shared between you and your family. I want to create images that will be cherished for generations to come. With my experience as a professional photographer and artist, I am able to create lasting images that will be treasured for years to come. I am confident in my ability to capture your story in a way that captures the heart and soul of the moment and the essence of who you are as a family unit.
Why is Family Session photography important?
Family session photography is important because it’s a way to preserve memories and create new ones. It’s also a great way to capture your family’s personality and bond with one another.
The best part about family session photography is that you can do it at any age, from newborns to adults. Family session photography can be done in several different settings:
indoors or outdoors, in a studio or at home. You can also choose how formal or casual you want to be with the setting and props.
The main goal is to document what makes your family unique. A great way to do this is by working with an experienced photographer who knows how to capture the light and angles that will bring out the best qualities in everyone in your photos.
How do I make it special?
I’ve been doing family session photography for a long time now, and it’s always been a source of inspiration for me. I love the way that families can be so dynamic and expressive— it’s like photographing a little slice of life.
But lately I’ve been thinking about what makes a family session special. And here’s what I think: it starts with the people in the family. You have to get to know them, and you have to find out what makes them tick. Why are they together? What do they love about being together? How do they express themselves?
Once you know that, you can start to capture the essence of your subjects’ relationships with each other. They might be playing games together, or laughing hysterically over something silly they did earlier that day; they might be sitting quietly reading together or cuddling on the couch after dinner; they might even be fighting over who gets which seat on the plane during vacation! Whatever it is, when it comes down to capturing your subjects’ real lives, there’s no substitute for knowing them as people first.

What’s my style?
I believe that the best family photos show the essence of who you are as a family. In addition, each photo should tell the story of how you interact with one another, so I love to
ask questions like: “What’s your favorite thing to do as a family?” or “What are some special moments that happen between all of you?”
When we’re getting ready for our session, I’ll talk with you about what kind of wardrobe might work best for your family and if there’s anything special about your location or setting that would be meaningful for you to incorporate into your photos.
- This way, when it comes time to take the pictures, we can focus on capturing the moments rather than worrying about what everyone is wearing.
