Is There an Ideal Time to Take Maternity Photos?

Shooting with me offers up an experience, sometimes, there may be a short hike involved. I definitely work with you to determine the right location, considering how you are feeling and what your vision is with the landscape around us in the Greater Asheville, North Carolina area.

You are typically more pronounced between 30-36 weeks and your belly hasn’t fully dropped, meaning this is the most ideal time frame, that is if you are feeling comfortable.

I definitely can’t predict an early pregnancy. However, I do work with you and your comfort level to remain as flexible as possible even though there may be an “ideal timeframe” that I have mentioned.

Honestly, the most ideal is when you are feeling great and confident in your own skin, this may be sooner than later. I also think about the interactions that play out in sessions. If you already have littles, then I will encourage you to shoot sooner rather than later in your pregnancy.

I want you to be comfortable enough to interact with your children, as well as being able to hold them. Something else to consider is motion. Motion is one of my essential factors in capturing imagery to support the feeling and authenticity.

Being able to move around a bit to create this motion doesn’t mean running or jumping, it’s more so just having the ability to move naturally and feel comfortable doing so with your body. If your belly is smaller – we will definitely work with styling to ensure you have a stunning gallery and experience! That is ultimately all that matters.

Whether this is your first baby or your 4th, 5th, or 6th – every single pregnancy is different. It’s best to make the right choice for you, and we’ll definitely talk through that along the way 😉

When To Book Maternity Photos When Expecting Twins or Triplets?

Twins or triplets? Yes!!! This is some exciting stuff, and If this is the case for you, then we need to schedule your maternity photo shoots within the second trimester or at 20-24 weeks of pregnancy.

Things that are for sure, you will be more pronounced earlier on, you won’t be as comfortable closer to delivering, and you will have these babies early!
