Craggy Gardens Trail: This is a relatively easy hike that offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The trail is about 1.4 miles round trip, and it’s a great option for families with younger children or anyone looking for a leisurely stroll. The trail leads to a picnic area with plenty of tables and grills, making it the perfect spot for a family lunch. I do use this hike often for Engagement and Family photo sessions. 

Catawba Falls Trail: This is a moderate hike that’s suitable for families with older children. The trail is about 2.5 miles round trip, and it leads to a stunning waterfall that’s well worth the effort. The trail can be rocky and uneven in places, so be sure to wear sturdy shoes and take plenty of water.

Bent Creek Experimental Forest: Bent Creek offers a network of trails that are perfect for families who want to spend the day exploring. The forest has over 20 miles of trails, ranging from easy to difficult, and they offer beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and streams.

The forest offers over 80 miles of trails, ranging from easy to difficult, and they lead to stunning waterfalls and mountain views. Some of the most popular trails in Dupont State Forest include Triple Falls, Hooker Falls, and High Falls.
